Know Your Constitution Initiative, presents a 2-Day Human Rights international conference, under the Chairmanship of Professor Akin Oyebode, an international law expert.
The conference is aimed at empowering
Nigerian and Non-Nigerian participants on their fundamental rights and other rights critical to people survival in Nigeria. The sessions include: The power and functions of the Police vis-à-vis the rights of accused person, Political Participation; A right or a privilege, Alternative Dispute Resolution; Its application to infringement of human rights, Contracts: what I need to know and why I need a lawyer.
The Human rights Conference goals are to contribute immensely to expanding the frontiers of liberty, human rights, democracy and happiness of people in Nigeria.
The plenary Speakers include Madame Reine ALAPINI-GANSOU, Chairperson, African Human rights Commission, The president, ECOWAS Court of justice, Mr. Joseph ’Bodunrin Daudu, SAN, President, Nigerian Bar Association and Mr. Rowland Ewuabre, Executie secretary of the National Human Rights Commission.  Our session speakers include Mr. Afiz Ringim, the Inspector General of Police, Justice Atinuke Oluyemi, Prof Itse Sagay SAN, Mr. Femi Falana, Prof. Ayo Atsenuwa & other twenty seasoned lawyers as speakers.
The Conference is schedule to take place at the University of Lagos Main Auditorium, Akoka, Lagos on Friday and Saturday 25 and 26th March, 2011.
